¶ … school and all the other crap going on over here. You know something? College would be fantastic if it weren't for these pesky little things called classes…they can take all the fun out of a perfectly good day =/
Actually, I have to say that school's been pretty cool. Some of my classes are boring…of course…that's why it's called school, right? But some of my other classes are pretty interesting and some of them really make me think about things, including stuff we've talked about before.
For one example, I'm taking this Writing class where we just read Lost in Translation by Eva Hoffman, a Polish writer who immigrated to Canada from Poland a few years after World War II when she was thirteen years old. Basically, her family was living in postwar Poland in a town that was still largely rubble four years after the end of the war and where her father had to scurry around scrounging for food to feed his family. We've discussed how lucky we were that we just happened to be born into...
Letter to My Addiction: To an Old Friend, Chai Latte, you have always been there for me every day, even when no one else was. As a result, you were my first love because I could turn to you when I was happy, sad, stressed, or angry. Finally the wait of several months was over when I experienced the finest blessing of my life. You were so fragile that at first I was scared to hold you. But just a single glimpse made you the inseparable part of me. I still recall the day

The absurdism and comedy in life and in each other are the things that make life so unique and so worthwhile. In returning to your life, your children, your family and friends, I feel you will be able to rediscover this absurdism, the silliness in
Please understand that one of the reasons I have come to this decision is precisely that I want to preserve our friendship. Lately, I have begun to have concerns that the way things are going, this venture could potentially affect our long-term friendship. I fully expect that we may very well do business together again sometime in the future and I would also like to preserve the professional rapport
The first component of the I-Statement (reading this from my notes) is to state your feeling in the first person. For you, this would be "I feel angry when you lie to me about paying your part of the rent." This is maybe a little too direct and accusatory so I should tone it down even though your roommate has broken two promises to pay so far. Try something
When the readings are complete you will be able to visualize the world many years ago and the things that happened at that time. The changes in mankind and attitude are also evidenced by reading the literature of the old world. Cultural differences are also clearly laid out through this course. They are detailed in several of the assigned works and show you how different people lived and how they
